Departing an airplane I lost sight of my partner. I found myself in a carasol of people being taken in the same direction. We went through a maze of party rooms where I was given plastic bubbles of liquid candy. I was disoriented. After being coherent enough to realize I need to find my luggage which was still at the airport and to contact my partner, I realized I had someone else’s phone. I found an old woman who I though may have brought me to this place in her car and she snuck up on me and placed something near my nose which I inhaled and became unconscious. She told me sorry while doing so.
This dream is rich with symbolism and emotions, reflecting a complex mix of feelings and concerns you may be dealing with in your waking life. Here is an interpretation of the main elements:
Departure and Separation: The dream begins with the act of departing an airplane with the sudden loss of sight of your partner. Airplanes often represent journeys or transitions – not just physical but also emotional or psychological. Losing sight of your partner could symbolize anxieties about separation, fear of losing connection or support in your life journey. It might indicate feelings of insecurity in your relationship or anxiety about future plans.
Carousel and Maze: Finding yourself on a carousel of people and moving through a maze of party rooms suggests a cycle or confusion in life. Carousels go round and round without forward progress, symbolizing feeling stuck or caught in a situation where nothing seems to move forward. The maze represents confusion and possibly a lack of direction or clarity in your life decisions.
Liquid Candy: Receiving plastic bubbles of liquid candy in the party rooms could symbolize being tempted or distracted by superficial pleasures or temporary joys that may not be truly fulfilling or beneficial. Candy is often associated with childhood and indulgence, perhaps pointing to escapist tendencies or a desire to retreat to simpler, carefree times.
Disorientation and Phone Mix-Up: You experience disorientation and realize you have someone else’s phone. Phones symbolize communication and connection. Having the wrong phone can indicate feelings of being out of touch or disconnected, possibly highlighting a need to re-establish or strengthen communication with someone important.
The Old Woman and Inhalation: The old woman in the dream seems to play the role of an unexpected antagonist, yet she apologizes while rendering you unconscious. She might symbolize a part of yourself or another person in your life who inadvertently influences you in ways that make you feel powerless. The act of inhalation could signify something being forced upon you or an unavoidable, unwanted influence in your life, leaving you feeling vulnerable or manipulated.
Apology: Her apology before making you unconscious suggests an awareness or acknowledgment of harm or an unwanted action. This could relate to feelings of betrayal or disappointment about intentions being good but resulting in unintentional harm or misunderstanding.
Overall, this dream may be exploring themes of disconnection, confusion, and an internal struggle between seeking comfort in familiarity versus confronting and resolving ongoing challenges or emotional pain. It might be helpful to reflect on areas in life where you feel uncertain or out of control, and consider how these elements relate to your relationships, personal choices, and emotional wellbeing.
